Teacher Student Parent Discussions - Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th September

This coming Tuesday and Wednesday, we will be holding our optional Teacher Student Parent Discussion Meetings. Thank you to all the families who have already used the Xuno app to make a booking.

A reminder that classes will be running as normal on both days and students are expected be at school all day.

These meetings are designed to put students at the centre of the conversation. The structure is simple: Let’s Celebrate, Let’s Think and Talk, and Let’s Plan.

Let’s Celebrate is an opportunity for students to recognise what is going well. They might talk with their teacher about what they are most happy with, what they are proud of, or what they feel is working well with their learning.

Let’s Think and Talk focuses on anything that might be presenting a challenge or creating a barrier to further learning. This could be something they are finding difficult, something they would like to understand better, something they are wondering about, or something that might be making school or learning more challenging.

Let’s Plan is about identifying a specific focus or setting a new goal. There should not be a long list of goals. One meaningful and achievable goal may be all that is needed, and there should generally be no more than three. The focus should be relevant to the student right now and specific enough to help take their learning to the next level.

We encourage families to have a conversation with their child before attending their meeting. This will help students come prepared to share their thoughts and ideas, as the discussion really is about them, with them and for them.

If your family has chosen not to attend a meeting, there is still a wonderful opportunity to have these conversations at home. Asking your child what they are proud of, what they are finding challenging and what they would like to work towards can be a really valuable conversation.

Progress Reports will also continue to be produced for every student and provided to families in due course. These reports provide another important opportunity to monitor student growth and look at changes in areas such as behaviour, attitude, attendance and learning achievement.

We look forward to seeing many of our families and, most importantly, hearing from our students about their learning.

End of Term Picnic and Assembly - Friday 18th September

End of Term Picnic and Assembly - Friday 18th September

What better way to finish a busy Term 3 than by coming together as a whole school community for some fun, food and celebration!

On the last day of Term 3, everyone is invited to the 298 Campus for our combined whole school end of term celebration.

We will kick things off with our End of Term Picnic from 12:15pm. Families are invited to bring along a picnic lunch to share with their children. Please meet on the basketball court at the 298 Campus.

At 12:50pm, we will head into the gym for our End of Term Assembly, where we will celebrate the achievements and successes of our students throughout the term.

It is always fantastic to see lots of families at both the picnic and assembly. Having our school community together makes these occasions extra special for our students.

To add a little extra fun, everyone is invited to wear their favourite footy colours on the last day of term as we get into the finals footy spirit!

So come along for a picnic, stay for the assembly, wear your footy colours and, most importantly, come along to have some fun with our students as we celebrate the end of another busy term.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Principal Leave

Mr Walter would like to let our school community know that he will be taking some leave over the coming weeks and will be away from school for approximately three weeks, including the beginning of Term 4.

During his absence, Mr Fisher will take on the role of Acting Principal, with Miss Conway and Mrs Walter sharing the Acting Assistant Principal role. They will work closely with Luke and Kerrie to support the day to day running of the school and ensure everything continues to operate smoothly.

We are very confident that the school will be in excellent hands while Chris is away and would like to thank Luke, Michelle and Nerissa for taking on these additional responsibilities and supporting the school during this time.
