Welcome Back To Term 4

Welcome Back To Term 4

Welcome back to everyone for the final term of 2026! It is hard to believe how quickly the year has flown by, and while we are certainly heading towards the final weeks of the school year, there is still plenty happening across our school community.

One of the highlights of Term 4 is our exciting program of camps and excursions. We kick things off tomorrow with our Year 3 students heading to Sovereign Hill. This is always a fantastic day for our students, providing them with the opportunity to explore and learn more about the Gold Rush era while immersing themselves in everything Sovereign Hill has to offer. We know they will have a wonderful day.

There are plenty more exciting opportunities to come throughout the term, with our Year 4 students heading to Roses Gap, Year 5 students attending camp in Warrnambool, and our Year 6 students participating in their Urban Camp in Melbourne. These experiences provide students with wonderful opportunities to learn outside the classroom, build independence and strengthen friendships. We look forward to hearing all about their adventures.

It is also wonderful to welcome back Mrs Aymee Hawke for Term 4. It is great to have her back with us, and she will be working across a number of classes throughout the school during the term.

This Friday, we also have a number of students representing our school at the Greater Western Region Sports in Ballarat. Congratulations to all of these students who have performed so well to progress to this level of competition. We wish them all the very best and know they will represent themselves and our school with pride.

Attendance Matters

Attendance Matters

As we head towards the end of the year, I would also like to remind everyone about the importance of regular school attendance. It has been fantastic to see such positive attendance across our school this year, and we want to maintain this momentum throughout Term 4.

Every day at school matters. Being at school regularly supports students to continue their learning, maintain their routines and stay connected with their teachers and friends.

Of course, we understand that students sometimes need to be away due to illness or an unavoidable commitment. When this occurs, please remember to contact the school, either directly through your child's teacher or via the school office. This allows us to record the absence appropriately as an explained absence.

If we haven't received notification about a student's absence, our school attendance processes require us to follow up with families to ensure we know that everything is okay and to determine whether there is anything we can do to support. As a result, you may receive contact from the school when an absence has not been explained.

Thank you for your continued support with attendance. Let's keep up the great work and make every day count as we head towards the end of 2026.

Student Leadership Forum

Student Leadership Forum

On the last day of Term 3, School Captain Kai Barnes attended the 2026 Student Leadership Forum hosted by Emma Kealy with guest speaker, the honourable Tony Abbott.  The forum was held at Wimmera Lutheran College Horsham campus and was attended by student leaders from across the region. Mr Abbott spoke about his pathway into politics, what it takes to be a great leader, and gave an insight into his life post politics.  Kai really enjoyed this opportunity and was proud to represent our school.  Pictured is a photo of Kai with Emma Kealy and Tony Abbott at the conclusion of the forum.

Important Country School Bus Program Update - New Student Travel System

Important Country School Bus Program Update - New Student Travel System

The School Bus Program provides travel assistance to eligible students in regional and rural Victoria with access to safe and reliable transport to and from school through a network of managed bus services.

What is changing?

The department is introducing the new Student Travel System (STS), which will replace the existing Student Travel Assistance Portal (STAP).

From Term 4, 2026, parents and carers will need to use the new STS to manage school bus travel for their children.

There are no changes to the School Bus Program policy. The eligibility criteria, application assessment, and bus allocation processes, remain the same.

What do parents and carers need to do?

In late September 2026, all existing parents and carers will receive an email with details on how to log into the new system and how to reset their password, which now includes multi-factor authentication steps as a further layer of data security.

Users will be able to log in to the new STS and view their travel details, and if no changes are required, no actions are needed.

Please contact the School Bus Program team on schoolbus@education.vic.gov.au or call us on 1800 338 663, if you have any queries or have not received your new log in details during early Term 4.
